EMMA KATE MACHUGH
Emma Kate MacHugh believes that all flowers have an inherent beauty waiting to be revealed. A graduate of the prestigious poetry program at Sarah Lawrence College, Emma was introduced to the sacred Japanese art of flower arranging, ikebana, during her time teaching English in rural Japan. Returning to the US, she landed in Miami where the riotous Latin-infused atmosphere influenced her stunning floral designs that graced the homes of many of the South Beach elite. Returning to her roots in Connecticut, Emma brings these diverse influences to play in whimsically elegant design that capture the wonder of the natural world.
Emma is a trained practitioner of the Ryusei-Ha School of ikebana and a graduate of the Wedding Planning institute. She resides in New Haven, CT with her husband Daniel and their devilish cat Eloise. When not playing with flowers, Emma spends her time doing yoga and reading.
