A Woodland-Inspired Backyard Wedding in Hamden, Connecticu

Lush bridal bouquet of white blossoms, soft blue delphinium, thistle and eucalyptus by a Connecticut wedding florist

Private Home · Hamden, Connecticut

FALL 2022 · BACKYARD CEREMONY · SET + STYLE · WOODLAND · VINTAGE · BLUE + WHITE

Who needs a ballroom when you’ve got a backyard, a string of café lights and a stone path that was basically begging to become an aisle? For this fall ceremony in Hamden, we built a forest-inspired birch-pole arbor and dressed it with two asymmetrical flower moments: white and cream blossoms with pops of blue, spilling off one corner and climbing the opposite post. Potted boxwoods in white planters stood guard on the patio. At the aisle entrance, low meadow-style arrangements of tall white blooms, wild local branches and deep green ruscus set the tone before anyone sat down. The bride, in a vintage-inspired lace dress and birdcage veil (iconic, honestly), carried a lush, gathered bouquet of white blossoms, soft blue delphinium, thistle and eucalyptus. Proof that the most personal venue might be the one with your own mailbox out front.
