design notes: romantic, organic, coastal, classic new england, seasonal
There’s something about a seaside summer wedding that feels like pure alchemy—sunlight on salt air, laughter carried on the breeze, and flowers that look like they might’ve grown right out of the sand. Held at a private beach club in Madison, Connecticut, just down the street from where they grew up, this celebration was a love letter to hometown roots and coastal chic.
From the moment guests arrived, the tone was effortless and joyful: that perfect New England mix of barefoot ease and tailored polish. The design vision? Summery garden meets shoreline romance. Think cream zinnias, fluttery cosmos, blush dahlias, tweedia, and peach foxglove layered into lush, airy arrangements that caught the light and matched the rhythm of the tide.
Captured beautifully by Trisha Keeler Photography, the whole day shimmered with texture, color, and connection.

bouquets + fashion
When the bride’s bridesmaids gathered around her, the room filled with that contagious pre-ceremony energy—laughter, perfume, and the soft rustle of silk ribbons. Their bouquets were the definition of garden-style perfection: hand-tied mixes of cream zinnias, cosmos, blush dahlias, and tweedia topped with peach foxglove.
Each bouquet was intentionally a little different—some leaned blush, some more honeyed—which made the collection feel fresh-picked rather than uniform. Against their cool, airy blue dresses, the flowers looked like watercolor brushstrokes.
The bride’s bouquet was the showstopper: creamy, soft, and full, layered with local, seasonal blooms that reflected the easy romance of the day. We used open-faced dahlias and fluttery cosmos to create movement, anchored by garden roses for structure. It was elegant without feeling fussy—an extension of her personality.
The groomsmen, styled in open shirts and sharp sport jackets (no ties, no fuss), wore petite boutonnieres featuring tweedia and blush spray roses for a nod to the coastal color story. Simple, refined, and completely effortless.
Fashion mirrored the florals: timeless, textural, and breezy. The bride wore a modern strapless gown with a structured bodice and flowing skirt that caught the wind just so. Her veil—long, sheer, and light as sea foam—trailed behind her in the sand.
The bridesmaids’ soft blue dresses framed the floral palette to perfection, while the groom and his groomsmen embraced relaxed coastal tailoring in light linen and open collars.
One behind-the-scenes highlight? Timing the floral delivery with the shifting summer heat. Our team transported bouquets in a cooled vehicle straight from our Milford studio to the beach club, ensuring every zinnia and cosmos stayed perky for photos—small details that make a big difference in coastal design.
centerpieces
For the reception, long farmhouse tables were draped in gauzy blue runners that rippled softly in the breeze. Ceramic bowls overflowed with honey-toned and blue blossoms—blue delphinium, autumnal hydrangea, cream cosmos, and those perfectly sun-kissed dahlias. Each table felt curated but not overly styled, blending laid-back coastal energy with quiet luxury.
Candles of varying heights added warmth as the sun dipped below the horizon, and string lights flickered on above the dance floor. It wasn’t showy—it was intentional. Every detail tied back to the couple’s love of home, of the sea, and of simple beauty.
The flowers didn’t just decorate the space—they belonged there, like they’d been waiting for this exact evening.
