You love flowers. We live flowers.

We’re floral designers for fun-loving couples who celebrate energy, expression, and authenticity in design. If you want to harness the potential of living art to share your style and wow your guests, you’ve found your place—now it’s time to meet your people.

You like your flowers fresh, your parties fun, and your experience absolutely effortless.

A been-there-seen-that banquet-hall wedding was never on your list. Instead, you embrace the storied, authentic, and beautifully offbeat. You don’t just see wedding flowers as another “to do”—but as an opportunity to express your individuality and transform that epic venue of yours into an environment your guests will never forget.

And when it comes to your vision—let’s just say it’s something special. You need an artist you can trust to take your ideas and run wild with them, but also a professional who keeps things in-order along the way.

Sound about right? Hold our shears—we know just the team…

We’ll get to us in a second—but first, let’s start with you.

First Blush is here to bring more beauty into the world through consciously-sourced, expertly-crafted flowers that celebrate people, honor the planet, and breathe life into parties.

There are so many things I could tell you about my career path (including a pretty neat tid-bit about studying Ikebana, aka the art of arranging flowers, in the mountains of Japan)—but the best way to sum up my experience is this: I’ve had my hands in every aspect of flowers and events since high school.

From working in catering and running the day-to-day at a flower shop—to booking and managing events for a luxury country club—I’ve seen this industry from countless angles. And after decades of experience, one thing became clear: every time I worked in event management, I missed floral design—and every time I worked solely in flowers, I missed the excitement of organizing events.

So I founded First Blush as a place where I could finally straddle the line between my two favorite things: creative freedom and logistical acumen. I love how running this studio allows me to get my hands in things and create art—while letting my type-A personality shine. (Listen, even my systems have systems.)

More than anything, I embrace the temperamental nature of this art form and find endless inspiration in working with a live product. Making centerpieces is my ultimate love language—let me put on some Yo-Yo Ma (or early-2000’s pop-punk if I’m feeling nostalgic) and get to work, and I promise the end product will be everything you envisioned and then some

Digging deeper…

  • I might be the only florist on earth who manages to kill houseplants at an alarming rate.

  • In another life, I performed and taught poetry all over the country.

  • Show me an old dog or a Corgi, and I’ll show a reason to cross the street and make a new friend.

  • I have two daughters who run circles around me while I read (60,000 pages last year to be exact)—and an Eagle Scout husband who makes sure my tools are in working order and my abysmal sense of direction doesn’t get me lost.

I would love to say I set out to become a floral designer, but the truth is, the flower business chose me. After working in the service industry for years, I met Emma, got a taste of the creative freedom this line of work allows for, and haven’t looked back since. There’s just something so special about transforming flowers into art you will treasure as part of your wedding day (and hopefully beyond through my floral-preservation business).

While I love the fluid nature of creating, I need a high level of organization in my environment to thrive (almost as much as I need a third cup of coffee). I pride myself on keeping everything I get my hands on systemized and streamlined—whether it’s an entire studio of fresh flowers or boxes of your personal items and wedding décor.

When I’m not elbows-deep in arrangements, I’m likely with my husband and toddler (...and our two dogs, one cat…and 22 fish), soaking up a lazy weekend, or hiking through the Vermont woods.

We’re all about

feel-good flowers

From process to product, we’re proud to offer thoughtfully-sourced, intentionally-arranged seasonal wedding flowers. We leave foam out of the equation whenever we can (no thank you, toxic particles), minimize waste, compost heavily, and support women-owned, organic, and local farms.

Bottom line—the art we create is rooted in our desire to do right by our planet and uplift those who do the same.

Let’s keep this party going.

Shall we?
