Timeless Jewel-Tone Wedding at Eolia Mansion: Blush, Burgundy & Apricot Florals in Connecticut
If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding that feels straight out of a storybook — think lush gardens, historic architecture, and ocean views — Eolia Mansion is the place. Tucked inside Harkness Memorial State Park, this venue combines classic elegance with coastal charm, making it the perfect backdrop for a celebration that’s equal parts timeless and vibrant.
As a Connecticut wedding florist, bringing this couple’s vision to life was a dream. They wanted a warm, sophisticated vibe with rich jewel tones and playful textures, and we couldn’t wait to dive into the design process. Let’s break down all the floral magic we created, from personal flowers to dreamy reception tablescapes.

“Emma was both my florist and wedding planner. She helped me navigate rescheduling due to covid then again because of a hurricane. She helped me when other vendors weren’t delivering what was promised. She also created wedding flowers for me for the 2021 wedding that was rescheduled due to Henri then again for 8/7/22 wedding. Both times the flowers were absolute perfection.
As a wedding planner, Emma is an absolute angel! Having rescheduled twice and having a myriad of other problems leading up to all three dates I was a wreck by 8/7/22. I reached a point where I was fluctuating between complete procrastination paralysis and extremely intense perfectionism. Emma rode the waves as though she had been my best friend since birth. She knew exactly when to push me along, when to let me vent, when I needed to be hit with the truth that I needed to calm the heck down. At the wedding I found myself wanting to hang out with her because she felt more like a super helpful bridesmaid than a vendor.”
bouqets and bouts
The bridal bouquet was a showstopper — lush, gathered, and bursting with texture. We combined cream roses, blush lisianthus, peach zinnias, and burgundy dahlias, adding in soft greenery for that perfectly undone, garden-inspired feel. It was classic but with just enough whimsy to feel fresh and modern.
The groom’s boutonniere featured a pop of burgundy dahlia with delicate foliage, effortlessly tying into the bouquet. Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet, and the groomsmen rocked sleek, understated boutonnieres that complemented their sharp black suits and burgundy ties.
ceremony
The ceremony took place in Eolia Mansion’s lush gardens, with the Long Island Sound in the background (hello, coastal romance!).
Guests were welcomed into the gardens to enjoy the summer evening within the natural beauty of the venue. It was the perfect blend of thoughtful design and let-nature-shine minimalism.
The bride wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a layered tulle skirt that caught the light just right. A cathedral-length veil added drama (in the best way), and the bridesmaids' mismatched burgundy dresses brought depth and personality to the wedding party’s look.
The groom kept it classic with a black suit and burgundy tie, mirroring the floral palette, while the groomsmen matched his vibe perfectly. And those portraits against Eolia Mansion’s ivy-covered stone facade? Pure magic. The florals, fashion, and venue came together to create a vibe that felt timeless but totally unique.
reception
For the reception, the couple’s attention to detail made the tablescapes unforgettable. The bride thrifted an assortment of vintage glassware — think champagne flutes, etched glasses, and delicate chalices — which we filled with blooms in apricot, blush, and burgundy tones. The mix of heights and textures made the tables feel dynamic and lush without being overly structured.
Long guest tables were dressed in rich burgundy linens with gray napkins, accented by gold flatware and vintage-style glassware. We added clusters of ivory votive candles to bring in warmth and sparkle, while the floral arrangements spilled over with locally grown blooms, adding that organic, just-picked vibe.
